My charge out rate is A$ 693 (including GST) per hour.
Unfortunately, over the years I have had many requests by solicitors and migration agents and clients to ‘look over’ a matter to see if it is worth taking further and this has taken up considerable time. I now must charge for providing this service. Usually this takes about an hour of professional time.
Many migration advisers have found a short phone advice session very useful which costs A$ 350 (incl. GST) as a flag fall for up to 30 minutes (made up of reading your material, research and oral advice). Of course, what you get is not just that 30 minutes of time but you get to tap into over 30 years’ experience in migration law and the fact that I am constantly updating my knowledge by reviewing the latest cases and changes in the law. Likewise, for the same rate I can also offer an e-advice service. You send me the material as an attachment and I provide a written advice based on 15 to 30 minutes of professional time.
I am also available to conduct a matter in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. To conduct such a matter the cost is between $10,000 and $12,000 including GST. Depending on the complexity of the matter, it could be more.
I am similarly available for Federal Circuit Court judicial review cases and appeals to the Federal Court, Full Federal Court and the High Court of Australia. In all cases an initial fee of $2,200 (including GST) is payable for compiling a review application.
